PRE-AMBLE:

Da Kine is a courageous experiment that brings Holland to North America by providing quality herbal products in a safe environment that protects marijuana consumers from street dealers, hard drugs and adulterated products, while also educating consumers about health issues and moderation.

Some members of the media, city government and police force want to shut us down. Thats why we need you to sign this petition demonstrating your support for Da Kine, and urging Vancouver City Council not to shut it down. Please send an email or letter to Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell, Vancouvers City Council, and the Citys police chief. A sample letter and the addresses follow:

SAMPLE LETTER:

Dear Mayor Campbell, Members of the Vancouver City Council, and Vancouver
Police Chief Jamie Graham:

I am writing you about Da Kine. I believe that Da Kine is a beneficial
business. It is the equivalent of Holland, which has had progressive
marijuana policies for three decades. That means Da Kine provides quality
herbal products in a safe environment that protects marijuana consumers from
street dealers, hard drugs and adulterated products, while also educating
consumers about health issues and moderation.

Da Kine provides employment and a classy meeting place. It has generated
business for other stores on Commercial Drive, and is bringing tourists to
Vancouver. Da Kine creates economic prosperity, and also helps the City
implement its Four Pillars harm reduction policy.

I dont believe that Da Kine creates any harm to Vancouver, but shutting
down Da Kine would harm Vancouver.

I urge you to work with Da Kine so that Da Kine can stay open. Please dont
revoke Da Kines business license or otherwise harm the shop.

Thank you for your consideration.

All the best,

Please send this letter, or a letter like this, to:

Thank you for your support.

PETITION STATEMENT:

I support Da Kine's efforts to provide quality herbal products in a safe environment that protects marijuana consumers from street dealers, hard drugs and adulterated products, and urge Vancouver City Council not to shut it down.

    • During the past few years, my holiday plans have always included a trip to Vancouver to enjoy the cannabis friendly atmosphere. Please continue to enhance this experience by finding a way to keep these new businesses thriving and enhancing your city. Thanks to the mayor and like-minded councilors for their positive approach to all the drug concerns in their city. It's been a long time coming. May sanity reign!

    • Cities are the very grassroots of Nations. The Tree of Life, whose leaves are gifts for the healing of nations. Da Kine'd root is growing! May the city councilors recognize the wonderful blessings and tremendous value in truth and freedom. May counsil see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts, the wisdom in cultivating, nurturing and protecting the garden of all loving, open hearts and gentle souls, especially the soul singers who toil earnestly and boldly, claiming the land for the good of all, sharing the truly divine music of the spheres of Harm Reduction, joyous health and peaceful hapiness. May the harmony of cooperation, tolerance and peace inspire and lead decisions to the fruition of good will and prudence. God Bless Da Kine's Smoke and Beverage Shop with the good fruits of peace, prosperty and longevity! May these words and prayer be as a sweet smelling savour, ascended up before the Most High, the pillar of Life! http://www.dakinesmoke.ca/philosophy.html

    • I agree that dakine is a good thing. Keep it alive for the people that need what they have to offer. Cannabis is a drug but just like tylenol is can serve a good purpose as well as be abused.

    • I was in Da Kine the first week it opened, while visiting Vancouver. A great tourist draw. The City of Vancouver would be foolish to shut it down. Cities should stand up to the ineffective Federal government drug policy and take a stand for reason and fairness. Shops like these should be open country wide!
