We the undersigned are appalled that Hampshire County Council is cutting its bus subsidy budget by half a million pounds. Basingstoke residents will suffer disproportionably as we will shoulder around 25\% of these cuts but only make up 12\% of the countys population. Many parts of Basingstoke will have a bus curfew from around 7pm onwards. We call on Hampshire County Council to reconsider its decision.

- These cuts should they go ahead will strike at the most needy residents like our hospital staff and patients. Buses stopping at 7.15 could put people at risk if they have to walk home.

- having regular trips to the hospital for my child will now need to be made around the buses, will be there either too late or too early. try telling a child they have to wait 1/2 hour when already worried about it.

- Once again Basingstoke bears a disproportionate share of Hampshire's cuts, in spite of our bailing them out on bus services in the past

- The bus service in Basignstoke isn't that brilliant anyway, I'm lucky, I have the use of a car but as usual it's those that rely on the buses that will suffer and have to pay through the nose as well. It's not run as a service its run as a business to make money

- No evening buses to the villages - we are a car-free family of 6 in Whitchurch - all the leisure facilities and events that we pay for through our ever-increasing taxes and community charges will now be denied to us.

- This town is growing, Increase services not kill the service. You must feed the shopping centre and restaurants etc for the Town to prosper. If late services are done away with our social life will halt as we will not taxi back due to the queue's and costs.

- Basingstoke bus services is not at its best as it is. Now they want to cut bus services such as the old basing - chineham and other villages. The elderly especially who do not have the luxury of driving and depend on these sevices for little things such as shopping and visiting friends will be deprived of these little pleasures. Is basingstoke going to increase the amount of their travel tokens so they can afford taxis to take the elderly from A - B, i dont think so!

- if these cuts go ahead the people of basingstoke suffer again is basingstoke bus station prepared to offer an affordable alternative. maybe they put their efforts into drivers that actually drive the busses instead of having a number of them standing around chatting in the depot

- Why do we have to pay for the facilities in Basingstoke through council tax when because of the ever reducing bus service (particularly evenings and weekends) we are then unable to use them. Isn't use of public transport supposed to be being encouraged?
