SAVE THE M6 BUS and M1 WEEKEND SERVICE.
M6 bus which operates between Central Park South-59th St and South Ferry is lifeline with dozen of commutes, workers, and including tourists depends on this line. With elimate of M1 Weekend Service below 106th St, it will be very hard commute from Harlem Hospital to Ground Zero.
According to proposal, M1 Weekend Service will be Shuttle Service only between 147th St & 106th St while entire M6 bus service is being elimated.
Currently M1 operates between 147th St & East Village and during the weekday, some trips goes to/from South Ferry.
Tourists at Metropolitan Museum of Art are not happy M1's current South Ferry Branch does not operates evening and weekend hours, resulting them to transfer to M6 bus at that time.
If M6 bus was elimated, and M1 became shuttle, people or tourist have to take M1 bus to Central Park, then take any 5th Av bus down to 59th St, and walk to 57th St-7th Av to catch (R) train to Whitehall St or crosstown bus to (1) train.
Park Av M1 riders will have to walk to nearby bus or subways to either downtown or uptown service.

- I live in the Financial District and use this bus to get my young children to school on 13th Street.

- I am a disabled senior citizen, and this is absolutely absurd! What are people supposed to do? How shall I get to work?

- Why not just re-route the M6, why discontinue the only west midtown bus from Lower Manhatttan?

- The M6 is my only convient means of transportation from work. If service is eliminated I would be forced in all types of weather to walk 9 blocks to my connecting bus home. The M-6 is always crowded and again the only bus that goes up 6th ave south of canal. Why would anyone in their right mind eliminate such a needed and well used route?
