Subject: Termination of Art 9 10 Cafe' BNU


It has come to our knowledge that the BNU administration has terminated the contract of Cafe' BNU (Art 9 10) without a prior notice, for no reason, and have asked them to leave the university premises within 3 days.

This has come as a shock to us as we, the students of BNU have been very satisfied with the quality of services provided by the Cafe' BNU's team; and there have been no complaints against the Cafe' BNU. It comes to pass that this decision has been taken solely to give a new contract to the son of a senior faculty member who happens to be the Dean of one of BNU's schools. Being helpless against a Dean, the cafe's management has decided not to protest against this unfair decision.

However, it is our understanding that as consumers to their services and as active members of BNU community, we have a right to make an official request to the BNU Administration to renew their contract. Students and faculty members who sign this petition believe that the Cafe' BNU should be run by the current team. Cafe' BNU truly represents the BNU culture and the current management team of this cafe' has become a part of BNU. We strongly support that this issue is resolved in a a fair manner while keeping in view the service quality of this cafe' and the attachment we have with it.
