I, the undersigned, a resident of Durham, hereby object to the proposed land transfers to Dominion Ministries, who plan to build a Level IV Residential Treatment Facility for severely disturbed youth at in the 200 block of North Dillard Street, and to Housing for New Hope, who plan to build ten efficiency units for the formerly homeless with a history of mental illness/substance abuse issues, on Roxoboro and Elliott. The City failed to contact both the neighborhood and interested parties prior to disposing of the above property.
I ask that the City instead work with the Cleveland-Holloway neighborhood to create a neighborhood plan that will address issues of concern to the community: crime, boarded up homes, and the need for useful services that will help strengthen this historic neighborhood, and, in turn, benefit the overall revitalization of Durham.

- As there was no chance for public comment and review of this land transfer, it seems unfair to the spirit of open government. Please halt the process and allow citizens to have a voice in the decision-making.

- Please don't transfer this property. It's counterproductive to revitalization of this neighborhood.

- as a home owner in neighboring area (Driver St.)-it is time for durham city council to realize that we all want our neighborhoods to be safe communities. We already try and balance so many different challenges, The city should try and support us and not userp their power by making decisions that can add to an already delicate situation. Following the guidelines that are layed out instead of slipping one by a community should be standard practice. Would other areas of Durham have to worry about such practices?

- The parcels in Cleveland/Holloway should be sold at market rate to developers. Because of zoning and planning requirements, the developer would have to include neighborhood input and support for these important gateway projects. This process is a better solution than circumventing the neighborhood.
