The Auvibel copytax is not helping the artist, nor is it helping the consumer. The only ones who get the better of this are the digital rights management companies, which have forced this through undemocratic means.

On top of that it is a thorn in the flesh of any artist who support the refreshing online musicsharing movement.

We hereby declare we do not like the tax and we want an open discussion on this matter with artists and fans.

--This petition has been written in English once to have one clear statement for all languages in Belgium.

    • Auvibel being organized by the law must be following the standard practices of transparency including the information regarding retribution, operation or evaluation of usefulness. Art 3. of "Arrкtй royal du 23 juin 1995" With the current evolution of the law, citizen ask for a clarification of the operation of those "sociйtй de gestion des droits" including the negative or positive impact on art and author rights.
