We the undersigned, in our most honest opinion, do believe that making "Core Combat", an upcoming expansion for "PlanetSide", a free download, would increase subscriptions and spread good will between the gaming community and the developers of the game.

We may or may not be satisfied with the game in its current state yet regardless of our current level of satisfaction, we still believe it is in the best interest of the long term future of PlanetSide that the content to be released with Core Combat be given away as a symbol of good will and SOE's dedication to the future of the game we pay for monthly.

    • Doubt if I will go on playing PS when they release a new uppdate of the game, I mean, they still have lots of work to do with Planetside. Still, you dont need to buy it but if you dont you will be in a huge disadvantige. Doubt that Planetside will last if they contiune to run the game like this

    • the game ran better in the end days of BETA and server populations were awesome... in it's current bugged/exploited/cheatable form I am not getting the service I'd expect from a game with a monthly fee... there are bigger battles on BF1942 than can be found in this game anymore and it's free unless you are paying to run a server

    • PlanetSide is loosing Players. Expansions sell mostly to the already existing Player Base. But with a dropping population, because of (seemingly) neglect of the current products problems, and instead concentrating on a new, people will continue to leave this game and it will die out...

    • If the expansion draws too many players 'underground' then who will remain on top side? Plus new players will have to buy the game plus expansion plus 12$ a month, that's a pretty hefty start up cost.

    • As a free download/patch core combat would better attract players (old and new) than if it were to be offered with a 30 or 40 dollar price tag. Before attempting expansions a game should first stablize its playerbase. ie DAoC. Before making bigger and better. Make sure smaller and good works.
