Petition for the movement of the caps-lock key on modern keyboards

Support the movement of the caps-lock key on modern keyboards.

Since the original design for the computer keyboard, all easily
available keyboards have had the caps-lock key between the tab and
shift key. However, these days the caps-lock key has become deprecated
and has fallen into disuse. It also happens that people accidentally
hit the caps-lock key while doing something where caps are certainly
not wanted, like in passwords or emails. The current location for the
caps-lock key is a major inconvenience to many computer users. Its
location is one of the most easily accessed when touch typing. This is
valuable keyboard real-estate that could be used for something else.
For this reason the caps-lock key should be replaced with a more often
used key (such as another control or return key).

However, caps-lock is still used for some purposes. For this reason,
and in the name of backward compatibility, it should still retain a
(small) presence somewhere else on the board.

By agreeing to this petition you believe that you believe that the
above is a worthwhile change. Also, you show interest in buying a
keyboard with the above modifications if it otherwise met your needs.

This is an open petition, and all opinions are welcome. Please feel
free to comment.

This petition will be submitted to several major manufacturers of
keyboards to show them that there is a market for these keyboards.
Hopefully, it will spur production of a new standard of keyboard sans
the caps-lock key.
