We, the students of the Digipen Institute of Technology, would like to formally request that the administration of the Digipen Institute of Technology reconsider it's recent firing of Adam Crespi. We feel that by firing professor Crespi we will be losing a very important program asset, as there is no one in the current faculty who can match both his 3DsMAX knowledge and extraordinary teaching skills. We feel that replacing professor Crespi would be quite difficult, especially for his current summer courses. It is not in the best interest of we the students to let go of Adam at this time as he has been an excellent department chair and has exceeded our expectations as a teacher. His 3DsMAX knowledge is unmatched, making him the only person on the BFA faculty that can fix our problems when 3DsMAX does not function as we expect it to.

Therefore, we would like to request:

1. That Adam Crespi will be invited back to Digipen as a full time faculty member, and
2. That Adam Crespi will be re-offered his position as the department chair.

We, the undersigned, feel that this is in the best interest of us and our fellow students.

    • DigiPen needs to take a good hard look at themselves if they think letting Crespi go was the proper decision. The sheer black and white mentality that has come across is ridiculous and shows a level of immaturity on the adminstrations part that is unflattering to the school, faculty, and students.

    • Adam was and is a great teacher, who, in addition to his classes in the BFA program, also planned on playing a signifigant role in architectural instruction for the game design degrees. We'll be hard pressed to learn what he was so well suited to teach from anyone else. Please bring him back.

    • While many feel a breech of contract should stand, I feel with the severity of the situation this needs to be revisited. Adam Crespi is too valuable an asset to the students. He has gained our respect and our loyalty by becoming a better teacher every day. I strongly urge DigiPen to revisit this decision for the sake of the BFA programs and the school reputation.
