We, the undersigned, urge the County Council to do everything in its power to avoid using pavements for car parking under the proposed CPZ for the Divinity Road Area.
Pavement parking causes unacceptable problems for all pedestrians especially elderly, very young, and disabled people.
Pavement parking should be used as sparingly as possible if at all. Bays should only allow the width of one tyre on the kerb.
Carriageway widths should be as narrow as possible so as to: 1) minimise or eliminate the need for parking bays to be
marked on pavements; 2) reduce the speed of through-traffic; and 3) accommodate as many residents cars as possible.

- I have a 10 week old baby and cars parked on the pavements in our street make it impossible for me to negotiate the road with a pram.

- I completely agree with this petition. If any pavement parking at all is allowed regular hedge trimming back to the property line should be an OCC responsibility.

- No pavement parking would improve pedestrian access and make road space narrower which would encourage cars to slow down.

- I think that Bartlemas Road should not have pavement parking. We really need to reduce the speed that cars drive up this road. In addition, it is extremely dangerous when young children run up the pavements and cars can be backing ont the pavement. We are also often forced to walk on the road.

- Pavement parking is endemic in many parts of Oxford. Legitimising it in one neighbourhood may encourage it in others. Pavements should be for pedestrians!

- Southfield road and Bartlemas road are the same width therefore as on Southfield road we don't need pavement parking on out road either!
