We, the fans, current marching members, and alumni of the drum & bugle corps activity and DCI, specifically, hereby state that the level of dissatisfaction with the World Championships venue in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the Lucas Oil Stadium, has reached such a point as to apply to this general petition.

Specifically, in terms of the recent actions of risky contract with the Lucas Oil Stadium, an indoor facility, without significant sound testing and examination of the facility's structure for reverberant materials, conductive to long-standing, lingering sound.

Seeing as how current marching members receive a full-length video of their quarterfinals, semifinals, or finals performance in this venue, we believe it is inappropriate to leave as a memento for the rest of their lives, a quality of product which does not match their own.

We ask that you find a new venue for World Championships, one that matches the quality of Camp Randall, Bloomington, or Invesco.

We are responding in this strong fashion, because every other request that has been made to you, has fallen on deaf ears.

    • I'd rather DCI be somewhere where it sounds good. It is after all a musical event.

    • I noticed something continually during championship week as I moved from section to section trying to find an improved acoustic location somewhere in the stadium. As a corps would build to an integrated effect which outdoors would be almost transcendent, I noticed fans lean forward in anticipation, only to sink back in their seats as the familiar, clear, powerful sound of drumcorps would never materialize ( save for a few rows in the 100 section and a small portion of the 500 section). Having been to many finals weeks where controversial innovations or judging brought widespread vocal anger and frustration, in this case I noticed something different in the audience: a kind of quiet, resigned depression and disconnect which seemed to result from the awareness that the awesome, unique drum corps sound, which thousands of young adults had worked most of the year to perfect, and which considerably enhances the visual effects of the corps, would not be experienced by 95\% of finals audiences anymore.

    • this is the worst sounding stadium I have ever attended a championship in, and is unacceptable for a title show.....the members, staffs, and fans deserve an acceptable sounding venue
