WE, the citizens of India, are shamed to know that our armed forces have to resort to pleadings of the sort we see today to seek parity of remuneration with government employees who neither perform functions as critcial to our existence as a nation, nor run the risks associated with it.

WE are embarrassed that matters so sensitive should become subjects of common parlance and open public debate showing us in a poor light around the world particularly in the context of our neighbours.

WE, the citizens of India, do petition you to use your position and influence to bear on the government the importance of putting the remuneration of all ranks of our armed forces - not on par, but above par as compared to the civil services.

To this end, we the below signed representing the common will of the citizens of India, are willing to pay a cess if necessary to create the conditions for enhancing the remunerative discharge to our armed forces with immediate effect.

WE trust that yourself, being Commander-in-Chief of our forces, will take this up as it should have been, without delay or deviation.

    • Ideas....1) Huge sums of money can be saved in the existing Armed forces setup and the samesavings can be used to increase the Salaries. For example, Stop the heavily subsidized goods & services given to armed forces (e.g. rations, eggs, cateen goods etc.....) for each rupee spent on such efforts, easily 505 is lost in corruption. savings like these should be passed on as salary increases. 2) there isa huge "Supply Chain" that supplies things others than armaments - for example rations, non-armament goods etc. All private companies get their goods delivered at the final usage point. We could easily get the suppliers to supply at each location, and for frontline areas, to the cantonment nearest to the front line. this was money & manpower will be saved, which could be pooled back into salaries and manpower in Armed forced. 3) Make all procurements open to external audit, apart from CAG. 4) All Procurements should be by Open bidding so that the competitors will expose each others loopholes = Cost Savings

    • I understand that army ground staff has high stress, low morale, bad service conditions, inadequate leaves, highly underpaid and communications gap with their seniors.

    • its a very shameful state if citizens have to raise this voice to raise the salary of the armed forces .i think Government should be senstive enough to raise the salary of our arm forces also i think there should be proces before raising salar of any civil servent there should be salary hike in armed forces otherwise we are moving towards an era where we will not find any person interesting in joining army

    • If they start quitting because of less pay, then we won't need to worry about the China being threat no. 1. The army can handle a good enemy but not a bad friend. Plz take care of them. Without them, we're sitting ducks for anyone & everyone

    • Unfortunately, the Pay Commission headed by a judge, has not done justice to the Armed Forces. As it is the Armed Forces are short by over 25\% officers at the cutting edge. Unless the forces get their just due, more and more will leave for "greener" pastures. The Forces need to remembered not only in times of war, but also in normal times and be paid what they desreve. Please note, if you pay peanuts, you'll only get MONKEYS!!

    • We, Servicemen, pay with our lives for your BETTER tomorrow. Better to realise sooner than later, that bureaucraats cannot protect the country against invasion. A Serviceman's life is as precious as any other life.Taking Servicemen for granted may result in grievous consequences to the country.(Ref THIRD WORLD WAR by Gen.Hackett).This is your wake up call !!! ACT NOW BEFOR IT IS TOO LATE.!!!

    • The "LAST' bastion with a pan -Indian vision.Yet,for maintaining a stiff-upper lip, successive Pay Commissions have played it dirty on the Forces. The 6th Pay Commisssion can best be described as the Pay Commisssion "OF,FOR AND BY THE BABUS'.A nation that has no sense of History is doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. The Service Chiefs ought to 'REJECT' the 6th CPC Recommendations in toto.
