We the undersigned members of the Democratic Party of the United States do hereby submit this petition in support of the "Resolution Demanding Full Compliance with the Party Charter and the Full and Fair Representation of the Voice of the Party Membership" submitted as a formal complaint to the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Party for the violation of the Charter of the Democratic Party by officers and staff of the Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee.

It is the right of each and every member of the Democratic Party to have their voice heard through their vote in the primary/caucus process and to have a fully representative National Convention convened, being composed of representatives of the diversity of views in the Party through a process of full, fair, timely and equal participation of every member in every state.

It is the responsibility of officials and staff of the Party and the DNC to remain impartial and evenhanded during this process of delegate selection and choosing the nominee. Public and private statements and activities of numerous officials and staff, including in particular Terry McAuliffe and Bill Richardson, have been designed to undermine the process, violate the Charter, and deny the rights of every member of the Party to full, fair, and equal participation and representation in the National Convention, the highest authority of the Democratic Party.

We do hereby call upon the DNC to take this petition and resolution as a formal complaint to the Democratic Party and the DNC and demand that it be immediately taken up under the rules of the Party as required under the Charter for the fair adjudication of disputes.

Included in this demand for a full and fair hearing of the disputes contained in this complaint and petition is the demand for all officers and staff of the Democratic Party and the DNC to immediately cease and desist in any and all public statements or actions designed to or having the effect of discouraging the full participation of individual members of the Party to seek the nomination of their preferred candidate and their full, equal, and fair representation in the Convention as well as any public or private statements or activities designed to or having the effect of encouraging any candidate or campaign to cease its efforts to obtain the nomination and to be fully and fairly represented in the upcoming National Convention and any activities or statements designed to or having the effect of discouraging a candidate or campaign from continuing in their efforts to obtain the nomination or earn full and fair representation to the National Convention.

    • Howard Dean for President in 2008. For 2004, it doesn't really matter. Bush and Kerry are two of a kind. Perhaps we should re-elect Bush and clear the field for 2008,

    • As a one-time Republican I thought the Democratic party was the answer. Not the way the DNC is acting. After Nov. I'll be a registered independent.

    • The DNC must abide by the rules set forth by the charter. Compliance is not an option but a necessity. Having our voice counted and heard is a fundamental principle of democracy. Our voice is our vote. WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED NOW OR EVER!

    • the democratic party continues along the path to failure. i find it unconscionable to resume support for the party until (real) structural reforms are noted.

    • Kerry and Bush are both "Bonesmen" - members of a secretive elite group at Yale who got together and decided how to divide up the country amongst themselves. Skull and Bones members need not apply! Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Kerry hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell of winning against Bush. I think I hear the Green Party calling my name...

    • Unaffiliated is what I will forever be after this coronation of John Kerry because I am not stupid and I realize that the convention was scheduled for Boston a long time ago, because the Democratic establishment planned for Kerry to be the nominee before the primary season even began and they did everything to make sure that it happened.

    • Of all the fine Democratic Presidential candidates who have or are running this year, only one can be chosen. Sadly, the one will be chosen by the few. We had the opportunity to chose General Wesley Clark, a true American hero and statesman, the likes we have not seen since JFK and FDR, or did we?

    • I am appalled at the lack of respect and support General Clark got from the leadership of this party. How dare the DNC Chair proclaim that he is looking forward to a debate between Bush and Kerry way before the nomination is settled. As a lifelong Democrat I am outraged.

    • The DNC's bias toward a candidate who has taken more money from corporate and big business interests in the past 15 years than any other senator, and whose votes in some cases obviously benefited his donors, is disheartening to say the least. Further, your preferred candidate did not ensure that all views including dissenting views, were presented to his Senate Committee on Foreign Relations regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq in 2002. Also, said candidate's activities in the early '90's aimed at normalizing relations with Vietnam resulted in his cousin receiving exclusive real estate contracts worth billions, constituting a conflict of interest.
