Frank and Doris Vincent, both in their eighties, have lived in their bungalow in Bristol since 1946. But now the Council of the City of Bristol have arranged a Compulsory Purchase Order to take their home without consent and knock it down to make way for a new housing estate.

We call upon the council to put a bit of thought into their plans, and find a solution that doesn't involve turfing an elderly couple out of their private home.

    • Numerous members of the former prefab community have been displaced, Mr and Mrs Vincent have a delightful building - reconstructed to their desires creating a real home, I wish them my total support and know many local residents in local groups and as individuals feel likewise. Fight on Vincent family - your home is your castle and lovely it makes Manor Farm look. BCC there IS room for better consideration here, profit is a worthless shame at such costs as this.

    • The tyrannical behaviour of this self-righteous council is nothing other than sustained mental cruelty inflicated upon this elderly couple. Shame on you, Judith Price. Where is your humanity?

    • This appears, on the evidence available, to be an appalling case of institutional tyranny.

    • Very sad. Please try to make a 2-phase development plan - the first section of the development to be completed initially, then the second section to be completed after these elderly residents have chosen to move on or have passed away naturally.
