Please shorten the Daylight Saving Time Extension

Dear U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirstin Gillibrand,....As you are aware,the 4-5 week extension to Daylight Saving Time was part of a massive energy bill signed into law back in 2005. I've found that the cons outweigh the perceived benifits.It has created a situation that has us with more days with prolonged morning darkness. This makes it less safe for school kids who travel to school on foot.This gets more problematic as you travel further west in each time zone.People with Seasonal Affective Disorder are bothered by prolonged morning darkness as seems to aggrivate their condition. I strongly urge you to work with the other members of the Senate floor and work to change the starting date of Daylight Saving Time to the last Sunday in March. This cuts down on the prolonged morning darkness. Also we would be coordinated with Europe in terms of Transportation, Communication and Commerce.With all do respects to the perceived advantages, making this change to the last Sunday in March will not hurt the environment,economy or the general public. Furthermore, the extension in the Autumn (to the first Sunday in November) is not perfect, that change is a bit more managable due to it being only one week longer at this point. As I mentioned before, I urge you to help change the March time changeover to the last Sunday in March. Thank You!

    • I would like to see Daylight Savings Time Eliminated alltogether. I think it's foolish to play with the time like this. Why not just ask municipalities to have summer and winter hours & leave the clocks alone.
