The New Zealand government must eliminate GST on all essential household items in order to curb growing market prices.

    • GST is an unfair tax as it most damages low income families for which basic spending makes up a higher proportion of their budget. Removing GST from basic food items works well in Australia, and will be beneficial to the health of the country with lowered obesity rates. Claiming that it's any harder here is a feeble shortminded excuse.

    • it is morally indefensible to enforce a tax on food and children's clothing.They don't do this in the UK, have never done so and that is only fair. The poor cannot afford this tax.
