We, the undersigned, request that the General Hospital duo of Sonny Corinthos and Carly Benson Corinthos be spilt up, permanently and as soon as possible. This daytime couple, together since late 1999, have managed to dominate the onscreen airtime in the years theyve been together as they never did when previously apart as solo characters. Weve watched them marry (multiple times), break up, fight, break glass, and predominantly yell and cry at each other for going on four years now. Some have been entertained, many others annoyed. Of late, the turn seems to have been taken towards boredom and disgust for an overwhelmingly large number of GH viewers and fans in regards to Sonny and Carly. Either way, its finally high time to put it all to a final end and move on to other pairings and stories for this beleaguered couple.

And beyond a breakup, we also request that the overwhelming screen time given to these two be confined and kept in line with that allowed the many other popular GH characters. Although we acknowledge that Sonny and Carly are characters who do have their own separate fan followings, we ask that the powers in charge of GH closely examine the strong and at times overwhelming emphasis given to them in terms of their proportion of on-screen storytelling and individual screen time. Sonny and Carly by all rights may figure individually in the GH story outline, but should both be featured as a part of a balanced plan to incorporate a larger number of GH characters into the overall stories and plots. GH is without question a drama rich in multiple story and character history, as well as loaded with some of the premier acting talent on daytime television. It is a shameful to not be able to see this wealth of ability featured on GH on a daily basis.

So say us all.

- Please put an end to the WORST couple in the history of daytime soaps. Give us back the real Sonny who would never lower himself to be with the likes of someone such as Carly Roberts. The S/C fans are nothing more then a paper tiger with entirely too much time on their hands. There are WAY more of us out here that want an end to this disgusting couple, as evident by the poor ratings since the inception of this horrid couple. The only way to lure the viewers back, is to quit teasing the fans with a possible break-up and have enough guts to finally do it!! Trust me when I say, you'll be glad you've done it, once you see the ratings start climbing back up where they were in the days that were true to GH character history. It's quite obvious to notice the spike in ratings, everytime there is the slightest possibility that Sonny and Carly may finally be over, only to take a nose dive again when the fans realize it was just another lame attempt to make this couple seem stronger. It won't work!

- In my honest opinion, it's not so much having disgust for the coupling of S&C (I've been a fan for years) but it's just that it's nice to have a change in scenery once in awhile. This coupling has been for so many years, things seem to get repetitive where they fight, break-up, get back together and all is forgotten. It's come to the point where we see Sonny verbally abusing Carly and speaking on trust issues, when he was always the unfaithful partner. What's more irritating is that Carly's character sheds some tears, begs for forgiveness and then all is once again forgotten. The relationship has taken away the essence of their characters (especially Carly) as individuals. Sonny is more recognized as an individual where Carly is just his wife. Separating them, at least for some time, can open doors for new love interests (i'm rooting for Sonny/Faith and Carly/Lorenzo), which can gather a wider fan base. S&C were a good thing, but even good things get stale when you have too much at one time.

- Sonny & Carly should have been over after the FBI thing. That was where the trust issue first came between them to me. Even though Sonny made the same mistake too, it was always Carly who has to grovel to Sonny for forgiveness. I am sorry, but what kind of message are you sending through them & their relationship? I saw a glimpse of the old Carly back when she was ..you know.. on a certain yacht back in August. Sometimes love only is not enough. Respect, trust, honesty and being valued need to be in the mix too, & SnC doesn't have those.

- oh god...they are horrible...nothing about them is appealing and this is why...carly is everything sonny does not want in a woman- which has completely destroyed the character of sonny...i have stopped watching since VM has left the show, and dont plan to watch until S&B happen or Sonny is with someone who makes sense
