- The arts are SO important to an all around development of any person...but most importantly to the children of this country. So may of our kids could be on a better track in life with leadership such as this. We need to afford them EVERY possibility!!

- A vibrant and happy society requires investment in the arts, which have been long underfunded by the U.S. Government. Please help us to ensure that the U.S. will be a leader not only in democracy, economics, military affairs, and big-budget, Hollywood culture, but also in less commercial arts, including music, literature, theater, and visual arts!!

- The easiest error to make in times of hardship is to sacrife interest and support in the arts. The arts are, in fact, quite possibly our greatest investment at any time.

- The arts are so important for the well being of our children. Through the performing and fine arts children (and adults) can be provided with a healthy and constructive way to express feelings. This is particularly relevant and important during these times of economic turmoil in the world. Thank you.

- In these challenging times, it is the arts that inspire joy and lift our spirits! A Secretary of the Arts will have this as their focus so the arts won't disappear when priorities need to be established. Thank you.

- This is of great importance to place creativity in the forefront of American Life. We won't be racing the world to the top unless we have the ability to envision and create. The arts facilitate the mental agility to envision a new world, both for creators and consumers of art.
