Completion of Ernest the Pirate

There is one final Ernest movie that hasn't been released called Ernest the Pirate. Apparently it was near completion when Jim Varney sadly passed away. It was either near completion or in post production. In any case it still remains unreleased to this day.

This final Ernest film should be picked up and completed by the Walt Disney studios as a final tribute to Jim. Disney is the company that released the first four Ernest movies, and in his final years Jim Varney did voice work for several Disney films (Toy Story 1,2, Atlantis). Because of this history between Jim and Disney Studios, We can't think of a better film studio to finish his final work and pay him a proper tribute. We wouldn't expect anything more than a direct to DVD release (and hopefully a Jim Varney tribute featurette as an extra).

    • The final Ernest and Jim Varney film should be carefully finished and given off as a tribute to a comedic genius who in my opinion matches that of Jim Carry and Robin Williams. If he had been given a larger budget and backed by the same producers and filming that the previous said comedians were he would have been noticed. His role in the Beverly Hillbillies was an example of the untapped skill he had. It is a shame it was not tapped into fully before his untimely demise.

    • I still think allot about the time when I saw several of his other movies, the most of the movies I saw at my grandmothers place, since she died, I always wanted to buy the movies, I haven't found them yet, but I surely hoped the newest movie would be released. she passed away also in the year 2000, I hoped it would be as a last tribute to the actor who past away, and a funn time, a laugh, ...with one of the best films ever made
