RE: The Carrington Houses, located on Fire Island between the Fire Island Pines and Cherry Grove in Brookhaven, New York.

We, the Concerned Citizens of Fire Island being residents, property or business owners in the town of Brookhaven, along with other interested parties, submit this petition for your consideration.

The undersigned hereby state unified support for the Fire Island Land Trust and its partners to rehabilitate the two historic structures known as the Carrington Estate, for the benefit of the community of Fire Island. We urge the National Park Service, Fire Island National Seashore, to work with the Fire Island Land Trust and support their efforts.

    • I have been a neighbor of this house for 30 years, and I hope to see it restored for its historic value as well as its beauty. Perhaps it could be named for Bob Frieda, the long time Park Ranger who raised his family there. Or even for Truman Capote , who wrote "Breakfast at Tiffanys " there...Save This House!
