We, the students in the Florida State University System, hereby petition the Honorable Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, United States Congress Speaker of the House, to appoint the Honorable Congresswoman Kathy Castor of the Eleventh Congressional District of the State of Florida to the House Committee on Education and Labor, where there is currently a vacant seat. We do this in light of her family's background in education (her mother, Betty Castor, was President of the University of South Florida), as well as the lack of representation for Florida on the Education Committee.
