Rename Fallout 3

Dear Bethesda,

We, the undersigned, request that you change the name of your product entitled "Fallout 3". We accept any name containing the word "Fallout", that would not suggest this product is part of the game series that "Fallout 1" and "Fallout 2" are part of.

The Fallout universe or franchise you purchased, contains the main series that was started by "Fallout 1" and continued by "Fallout 2" and two spin-offs "Fallout Tactics" and "Fallout: BoS". The last two games were not named Fallout 3 and 4 because the game play was different and they did not represent a continuation of the main series and were not part of it.
We feel the same way about Fallout 3 and consider that the radical changes listed below set it aside from the main Fallout series.
Your Fallout has a first person perspective, while the original series had a 3rd person isometric view
Your Fallout has a real time combined with a slow motion combat system. The main Fallout series has a turn based combat system.
Your Fallout has many elements that would make it part of an action RPG genre. The Fallout series only contains RPG games. Some of the differences are related but not limited to: character development, choice and consequence and the very limited ability to solve different situations by different means besides combat (action).

There are further reasons, but we consider them subjective and not necessarily accepted by both old and new Fallout fans. Just as we consider the above reasons objective and sufficient argumentation for our request.

    • There are many problems with the game Bethesda calls Fallout 3, but the purpose of this petition is to change that name; not point out the negative aspects of the game. I agree with you all that this game is not true to the Fallout spirit and feeling, but that is not a solid reason to have it's name changed.
