Dear Mattel,
We, the undersigned Barbie fans, are angry and slightly offended by the recent Barbie Girls world web site youve created.
The concept is cool and the site is cool. The only problem what about the boys!
Im sure youre well aware of the fact that many young boys enjoy playing with Barbie as a kid. We feel that Mattel has made too much of an emphasis on Barbie girls. What about us Barbie boys?
Though, Barbie is a toy intended for girls, we feel that your marketing strategy for Barbie should be slightly altered to make boys feel a little better about playing with Barbie.
This may even result in better sales for Barbie! Since Barbie will no longer be for girls only, boys will feel better about buying dolls.
Not to mention, us Adult Male collectors! One of your most successful collector doll lines The Model Muse/Best Model collection is designed by Robert Best, who is a man.
And Im sure if you look back at all the dolls youve made, youd realize how many great doll lines men created! If they can create great dolls, why not make other boys feel better about buying them?
To put it simply make Barbie for boys, too! Add Male characters to your Barbie Girls site and make Barbie more boy-friendly!

- Not only should Barbie be more boy-friendly (i.e, packaging and theme songs) but we we need more boy dolls, and a better boy body. Not to mention more diversity! Do all male dolls REALLY have to be blond haired and blue eyed? Also, we need more boy clothes in the same price-range as Barbie's clothing! That's just my 2 cents.

- You always need to make Boys from all different cultures. Asian boys, latino boys, and many others.. I love Barbie and I love the guys too, So please make more men.

- I agree, my son loves barbies and often wants boys to marry his girls. He also likes the website for 'girls'. This day and age it should incorporate boys as well as they like barbies too.

- I have a son who loves Barbie and all the movies, but he gets upset that they are all girls..Mattel shame on you for excluding boys in your production and marketing..after all they are prospective consumers....missing out on my dollars!!
