We, the members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered (here forth referred to as GLBT) community and their allies believe that all marriages, domestic partnerships, and civil unions deserve equal press.

We believe that even though same-sex unions are still not recognized as a legal binding marriage in Washington State, these ceremonies are very real to those participating in them as well as to our friends and family members.

Washington State is making strides in moving towards GLBT marriage equality. The domestic partnership bill is in place, and expanding. We feel that one way that our community can support these efforts is for the local newspapers to publish engagement notices for GLBT couples. The state believes that we deserve equal rights, and change can start small and grow large.

Please review these facts and consider publishing GLBT engagement notices in your newspaper, in support and acceptance of the large GLBT community in the area. Thank you.
