Between April 2005 and now, forces in the Southwest Province of Cameroon have killed eight students during demonstrations by students of the University of Buea and Secondary and High School students in Kumba. These students were agitating for a better academic environment, but were confronted by forces that quickly opened fire with life ammunitions on them killing some and serious injuring may others. They Killings, no doubt were premeditated
Your government, as usual, created Commissions of inquiry to investigate the brutality and killings, but until now, the findings of the commissions are yet to be made public. The bruised families continue grieve over their lost children while the killer officers roam the streets as free persons prepared to kill more students and peaceful demonstrating Cameroonians at any time.
Global Conscience has asked your government to investigate and sanction the killings, but your government appears to be interested in the impunity.
Cameroon is a signatory to various international treaties guaranteeing the right to life of all persons, and Cameroon posits to be a state of law.
Global Conscience is therefore soliciting beseeching your government to, with immediate effect,
open investigations into the brutality and killings
publish your findings,
prosecute the perpetrators of these heinous abuses and sanction them according to existing laws, and
meet and compensate the families of the deceased victims as well as all others who suffered severe injuries.
Your Excellencys government will be legitimizing its mandate over the Cameroonian people only when humanity can witness that you actually served ALL Cameroonians justice.

- It is regrettable that the Government of Cameroon enjoys immunity for impunity.Ifeel very disappointed that even the Minister of justice feels comfortable not to open up investigations into these brutal killings..However it is high time time the UN Special Rapportuer for Extra-judicial killings visit Cameroon to cause international inquiry into hundreds of Cameroonians who have be killed extra-judicially.I feel very sad for the minister of justice,I think it is high H.E. Amadou Ali resigns.

- Its time Cameroonians start taking their responsibility in the building of a solid nation in which strong democratic institutions are firmly rooted; where human rights remain rights and not privileges; where accountability and transparency are a fabric.

- i belief that the law should take its course because human lives should not be waisted like animals.to me these students were fighting for a just reason and the perpetautors of the killing of brillant and innocent citizens should be punished.

- I do believe that justice has to run it full course as far as these issueof taking away innocent souls. Being a human right issues, since every body has a foundamental human right to live. This issue is quite alarming in Cameroon and if measures are taken or put in place ido hope there be no hope for human resourse in the futur and students will have no say in the days ahead. I strongly belived that it is the duty of the government through the Ministry of Defence through hierachy that is the haed of the military barade to give sound instructions to its element not to use live bullet on students and if they do, serious sanctions should be taken against them. The media could be used to tell the public about what is happening, and major taken against them in other to put an end to it . Finally the families need to be compensated since they children where their only hopes in the futur.
