The ticket reseller getmein.com, owned by ticketmaster, sells tickets for 'sold-out' concerts and events at prices far in excess of face value, as well as quite unreasonable processing charges and the further cost of postage.
It would seem that ticketmaster stand to increase their already sizeable profits at the expense of the consumer after their acquisition of get me in. It would appear that they are either:
- Selling tickets, in essence, to themselves in order to increase the purchase price to the buyer and profits for the company, or;

- Are providing a service for persons or organisations who buy up tickets for popular events for no reason other than to sell them on for profit, so that they too can make a profit from this practice.

I would urge anyone reading this petition to sign it to demonstrate the number of people dissatisfied with the practices of get me in and ticketmaster and the lack of legislation to prevent such practice. Not only does this resemble ticket 'scalping', but it takes the further step of attempting to legitimise what can only be seen as an unfair and immoral business model.

    • It is impossible to get tickets on ticketmaster when events go on sale, but for some reason there are always hundreds of tickets on getmein almost immediately!

    • GETMEIN.COM is an outrageous money-making scheme that inflates ticket prices enormously beyond the reach of most music fans.

    • It is time for government legislation and an investigation into the practices of ticketmaster who have a virtual monopoly on live music.
