I am starting this petition in response to my recent vacation to Nauset Beach in Orleans Massachusetts. I have frequented this beach with my family for years because of its long secluded stretches of beautiful shoreline. The town of Orleans now allows cars to drive down the entire shoreline and park for the day. The speed limits claim 10 mph, but I saw hardly anyone obey. There were two close collisions (probably at about 30 mph), teenagers hanging out of car windows, and a total disregard of the wildlife (two sleeping seagulls almost got hit). A once beautiful, peaceful beach has been transformed into a parking lot because the town gets money for the permits. This has to stop! Please sign my petition!
