Cell phone coverage for the Gulf Shore

WHEREAS in areas of the Gulf Shore, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia cell phone coverage is intermittent and weak at best and absent in most other areas;

AND WHEREAS it is a health and safety issue that residents and visitors cannot easily use their cell phones;

AND WHEREAS; local businesses and facilities suffer loss in not being able to offer services that include cell phone coverage;

AND WHEREAS the undersigned all desire access to cell phone coverage;

NOW THEREFORE the undersigned hereby request that the recipients of this petition provide full cell phone coverage.

    • As this area grows and develops into a destination tourism, cottage and retirement area we need to accommodate our visitors and new neighbours with all the amenities, or they will stop coming.

    • I have a real estate business and when I am at my cottage at 1083 Gulf Shore Road if my cell phone does ring it almost always loses signal during the call. The phone is my most important sales tool. When my phone is down, I am out of business. Although I have a land line, all my business calls are routed thru my cell. I would appreciate your concern. thanks peter

    • returning to the beautyful Gulfshore from Germany or Florida we feel sort of pushed back to medieval times without the security and amenity of cellphone coverage in our rural area.

    • Not only ourselves, but many visitors at our cottage on the Gulf Shore complain that they cannot use their cell phones in this area as the signals cut out during a conversation or they cannot receive a signal to make a call

    • My son and daughter-in-law are both posted in Afghanistan and I hate missing phone calls from them, because of the bad service we have on the Gulf Shore. "WAKE UP" Bell Mobility, it's 2009 and we still can't get good cell phone service.
