As we all know, the NEW SERIES of Fullmetal Alchemist / Hagane no Renkinjutsushi has been announced to be aired in Japan starting April 5th.

It has been known that the remake will follow strictly with Arakawa Hiromu Sensei's Manga Storyline.
This has been an announcement we all hagaren fans have been waiting for.

Unfortunately, a disappointing announcement was made at March 6th, 2009.

95\% of the 1st series seiyuu (voice actor) casts have been replaced.

All of them, both the replaced and unreplaced ones did a perfect job creating an image that fused into the fans' hearts
Each time we see their Characters, we will remember their wonderful voices.
All these seiyuus have amazing voice acting skills.

Fullmetal Alchemist have touched the hearts of billions of people from all over the world.
Many people claimed that Fullmetal Alchemist had changed their lives, inspired them, and the characters had somehow become
their parental figure. Of course, the 1st anime success cannot be celebrated without the seiyuus.
Maybe some people don't care and only look at subtitles, but without voices, the characters cannot be brought to life.
Seiyuus' existence are the spirit of anime.

It's not that we hate the Seiyuus from the new cast team, it's just that we really miss the 1st casts.
It would never be the same without these voices.
We know that the anime hasn't been out yet when this petition was released.
We will try to give the new voice actors a chance.
But still, we miss the old casts and we disagree with the decision to replace the casts.

- i remembered the days when i cry, when i think i can't stand up anymore and lay in the darkness hoping to disappear, and a voice rescued me. and that is roy's voice. yes, ookawa toru's voice. his voice...i dunno. all the pain and all the sadness just went 'poof' magically after i hear him sing. and then i can bear a smile in my face and laugh again. it's really a magic. i debt my life on him, that's why i was so upset when he was replaced. i was also upset with the replacement of toyoguchi megumi, yamaguchi mayumi and okiayu ryutaro. they're doing great jobs in their acting, and i think the new FMA is trying to get more profit by changing the seiyuus into some high-profilic seiyuus but to me, it reduces the quality. i don't care about the new seiyuus reputation and all, i think quality is the most important thing.

- I am not trying to express hatred towards the Seiyuu sans from the new cast team of Hagaren FA. It's just that I really miss Okawa Taisa. It was all because of Okawa Toru san's MANLY, SMEXY attractive voice, I started to FALL INTO DEEP LOVE WITH ROY TAISA AND THE WHOLE HAGAREN SERIES (1st Anime Series and Arakawa Senei's Manga Series). Okawa san voicing Roy Mustang Taisa's SPECIAL VOICE WILL BE THE ONE AND ONLY VOICE WHICH I WOULD NEVER FORGET FOR LIFETIME. Each time I read Arakawa Sensei's Manga version of Hagaren, Okawa san's voice will naturally pop out from my mind when Mustang Taisa comes into a scene. So as all those wonderful seiyuu sans' voices from the 1st Hagaren Anime Series. They all have done such a PERFECT JOB IN DOING IMAGING FOR THEIR CHARACTERS. ALL THEIR FANTASTIC VOICES have been DEEPLY FUSED INTO MY HEART, I will NEVER EVER Forget each and everyone of them. I have not the slighest idea on earth how could the Officials replace all of those fabulous people all of a sudden just like that!!

- Directoral freedom comes with a certain obligation when working with a pre-existing work. If he wanted a different feel or different characters, why use the form of prior ones with new inflections and impressions? Given Hirmou's hand in the development and characterization in the first series, even if it deviated strongly from the manga, gave fans a sense of connection between both anime and manga. Fans could enjoy both despite their differences, because of that accuracy and feel. Because Mr. Irie is working with an established series, by which I mean the manga and former anime, it is overly pressumptious to pick and choose the elements (in this case seiyuu) to retain in what seems to be an utterly arbitrary fashion. Until the staff gives a sound reasoning for the changes, it is difficult to view it as anything more than a slap in the face.

- I miss Ookawa san and Neya san so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhh that I started to listen to Roy Mustang's Character CD for a whole day on the 6th of March. It was absolutely a BAD move, the WORST move I would say, to change nearly 95\% of the seiyuus in the new series. I totally collapsed when I heard this news on the 6th of March, and I nearly gave up to continue the doujinshi which was supposed to be a gift and salute to the new series of Hagaren no Renkinjutsushi animation. Bones, bring the old cast all back to us!!! I don't see a point for following Arakawa's manga storyline in the new series if the old cast is replaced.
