Transition Heathrow faces eviction from Grow Heathrow, its squatted garden in the heart of Sipson.
After occupying the site on 1st March 2010, the plot has provided local residents with a space to start building more sustainable and more resilient Heathrow communities after the dropping of the 3rd runway. Residents and activists have worked together to turn the derelict piece of land back into a thriving market garden. 30 tonnes of rubbish have been removed and two of the greenhouses have been completely re glazed. There have also been many workshops and events such as permaculture courses, growing workshops and a well attended banquet.
Grow Heathrow is at the heart of the Transition Heathrow project, and the looming threat of eviction leaves it with an uncertain future. The land has become a community hub and a model of sustainable living and self-sufficiency. Please ensure the future of this exciting space by signing the petition to save Grow Heathrow!

- How sad to see another example of the commercial interests of a minority take over that of the local majority. Grow Heathrow have created such a beautiful community space, bringing people together and closer to their natural environment. This is what life should be about, forget about the 'globalization' of everything, a return to local food production to re-create and strengthened community life based around sustainable living, sharing, family and friends. Keep up your amazing work, it's people like you who are the real heroes, shame on those who want to destroy this project.

- Such a good thing for the community should not be closed down. Especially in todays economic climate. I strongly feel that eviction would be unfair

- The Grow Heathrow Project is set in a space that allows brilliant ideas to flow for bringing together possible solutions to our future on this planet as well as bring commuinty spirt back to local areas. I believe to law is set out to surve the people. In this case the need of the commuity is greater than that of an indivitual that has neglected the land for years. The project should be allowed to continue indefinitely and if projects like this could be set up across the country it would be no bad thing.

- These people have contributed so much to the morale of the Heathrow Villages, who have themselves sustained a tremendous campaign against the 'Third Runway' (ie defeated the construction of a whole new airport) within Hillingdon.... The Third Runway is dead at the moment. Grow Heathrow/ Transition Heathrow will help keep it buried. The occupation is admirable. Please do not evict. Licence the site in some way. This is legitimate direct action.
