Skateboarding.
This is a great thing to do when bored, or to stay away from drugs and alcohol. But when going into to Lynbrook, of Long Island New York, they feel the need to take your board away, even cameras, and also you can recieve a fine. Understood we're loud, but do we harm anyone, anything, or ruin anything? Not exactly. So what is this madness, are they trying to keep us on the streets doing stupid things we shouldn't? Or should they just let us keep skating. Please sign this to show your support that skateboarding should be allowed all over Lynrbook, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.3

    • I've been skateboarding since i was 12 years old and not a day has gone by where I haven't stepped on the thing I love more than anything. Now that the law has been passed I have smoked at least 4 blunts a night now that I can no longer have a place to do what I love in Lynbrook. I have seen an increase of drug use among skateboarders since. The youth either succeeds, or does drugs, skateboardings gone in Lynbrook, that just means more pot, coke, and dope.

    • Skateboarding honestly is not a crime, hence why i did a 10 page paper on doing so. Skateboarding is an art AND a sport. Skateboarding has been around for so long and i have not seen a problem with it, understand you will have idiots, but there could be a COMPROMISE instead of just garbage bills.

    • Skateboarding keeps people out of danger on main roads and decreases drug use among youth. If skateboarding is taken away, more teens resort to drugs, graffiti, vandalism of all sorts, and crime in general. Doing a hobby as common as baseball, soccer etc. shoudn't be shunned because it makes loud noise and is stereotyped as ''Young kids who do nothing but make elders angry and fight cops''

    • dear town officials: stop being pussies and let us skate, you guys suck, the future of lynbrook will now just be drug addicts who had a clean life until skateboarding was banned.

    • I grew up on long island, and i've lived in lynbrook. i know a lot of these kids who are out there skating and for the most part they are good kids. every now and again a bad one comes along and ruins it for the rest but if you stop and look at the majority of them they really are good kids who are out there just trying to have fun and stay entertained. honestly taking their boards away and giving them a fine is retarted. what's next? are you going to remove all the baseball and softball fields and start handing out fines to kids who use an open field for a pickup game of baseball. honestly give these kids a break.

    • I absolutely love skating, that is so stupid how you're not allowed to out there. There are worse things they could be doing instead of skateboarding! How come skaters get scrutinized so much? Its not even fair or rational.
