We object to the current situation in South Africa where industrial hemp has stagnated within the realms of research. We believe industrial hemp should fall under the mandate of the Department of Agriculture and not the Department of Health where it currently resides.
Industrial hemp is not psychoactive, but can provide solutions to many of the challenges we currently face by way of job-creation, nutrition and sustainable housing without negatively impacting on the environment.
South Africa should take advantage of all that this wonder-plant has to offer.

    • It's quite simply, the right thing to do. Don't let the Cotton industry control your decisions.

    • caring about the population means housing people safely; hemp is a scientifically proven cheap, safe and very strong material for building (not to mention the myriad of other uses and benefits, including job creation, which could result from its application and manufacture). do the cons really outweigh the pros?

    • Hemp is a wonderful resource as a fiber and should be treated the way other crops are treated.
