On March 7, 2003 the terrible news that Sean Biggerstaff (who we all know from the movies "Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone", "Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets", & "The Winter Guest") will not be returning to the HP cast for the 3rd movie. The reason is that all scenes containing Oliver Wood have been cut. Of course just the fact that Oliver not being in the movie is appalling, but this also means the scene where Gryffindor wins the Quidditch Cup has been cut from the movie as well. Its well known that Warner Bros. has slaughtered the previous HP movies (whether its changing important scenes or just plain out cutting them) and us, as devoted HP fans, must fight it. So whether you support Sean Biggerstaff, any of the other Quidditch players, or the Harry Potter movies and books in general, please sign and spread the word about this petition.

So in conclusion, we ask that Warner Bros. reconsider editing and cutting scenes with Oliver Wood. Or else we will be forced to boycott the 3rd HP movie Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban.

    • While I am not a Sean Biggerstaff fan, I am an Oliver Wood fan, and his mania for quidditch is very important, while not central, to the plot of the books, especially with the Firebolt, and the final winning of the Quidditch Cup. Removing him from the movie only proves that neither WB nor Steve Kloves understand the Harry Potter fans.

    • Quidditch is an important part of Harry Potter, it would make the movie worst if they take it out!!!

    • I think that this is a big deal in the movie. It shouldn't have been suggested by anyone to take this out in the first place. If you are truly "loyal" to the book, then you should keep these scenes in!

    • I think it's horrible that Warner Bros. would even consider cutting out Oliver Wood, whom is an important character. Oliver Wood may not have the biggest role in the HP films, but he means a lot to the HP fans and deserves recognition. He's the Gryffindor team captain, and is essential to all Quidditch games and as a part of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Also, why would anyone think of cutting out when Gryffindor whens the Quidditch Cup? Quidditch is a big part of the Hogwart's student's time at the school, and why not show Gryffindor's big victory? I hope that Warner Bros. will reconsider cutting out parts of the movie that means so much to us fans, including the wonderful Oliver Wood played by Sean Biggerstaff. His talent of the Gryffindor Captain shines, and should be included in the films.

    • Quidditch is not the same without Oliver Wood. Harry Potter is not the same without Quidditch. You've already screwed enough things up with the movies, and this is the last straw.

    • It would be a mistake to tamper so much with the fine works of Joanne Rowling just to fit it in a time slot, I think Warner Brother's should remember that the movie goers are also the people that buy the books and merchandise. Also, I know I am personally more faithful to the books, and will buy the Order of the Phoenix even though it may contain painful events, I will not watch a movie that glosses over the little details Joanne Rowling specifically puts in her books to help those take the good with bad.

    • We need Oliver Wood. He's an important character to the story. Besides, I wanted to hear Fred Weasley say he's trying to drown himself in the showers. This blows man

    • Oliver Wood is an important character and it would be incredibly wrong to cut him from the movie. Yes, some things have to be changed when making a book into a film, but cutting out Oliver Wood and the infamous quidditch scene should not be done. We Harry Potter fans see the movies because we want to see our favorite scenes in the book on screen; what would be the point in going if they cut one of the best scenes out?

    • I really don't understand this choice by the makers of PoA. How do you have Quidditch scenes without the Captain? There are SO many key things that happen during the games. I don't see how these can be portrayed on film well without having the ENTIRE team, especially Oliver Wood, in the movie. Do a Special Editon DVD! Film the scenes with Sean, cut them if you have to, and the release special DVD's like they did for LOTR! BRING SEAN BACK!

    • Oliver Wood is such a great part of Prisoner of Azkaban, even if he isn't a central character. He is important to the Quidditch scenes and Quidditch is important to the story. Please reconsider and include the character to some extent.

    • I find it rather appalling that Oliver has been cut from the film. I realize they need to do certain things to keep the movie shorter, but to cut Quidditch from PoA? What's next? No Fluer or Krum in GoF?

    • Having read PoA, I find it completely ridiculous that Oliver Wood doesn't even make an apperance in the next movie. Wood and Quidditch were intergral parts of the work and not having either in the movie (as they were in the book) will wreck the movie for me, my friends, and my family.

    • This is outrages! Have the people at WB even read the third book! Do they not realise that Wood and Quidditch play a pivotal role in the books and if they are going to stay true to the books (like JK Rowling wanted) then they must keep Wood and Quidditch! Sean B makes the ideal Wood. He is not only goodlooking he is also a fine actor and plays the role of Wood better than any actor out there! KEEP HIM IN THE MOVIE! and if the WB are just being tight then perhaps the filming should be done at another production company!!

    • OK. Since the reason for cutting out Sean, Oliver, and Quidditch was completely illogical (very riddikulus indeed, needing to shorten the movie to 2 hours so they had to cut something out) I will give a logical argument on why this is a VERY BAD IDEA. First, the plot will be totally off. Harry is supposed to produce a patronus at the 'dementors' during th quidditch match against Ravenclaw, which comes in handy later on at the end of the movie. Also, Harry, Oliver and the Gryffindor Quidditch team is going to win the Quidditch Cup for the first time in 7 years. When he wins, Harry feels that he could 'produce the world's best patronus'... which will again play a part in the end of the book. I understand that the plot centers around Harry and his relationship with Sirius, but if the movie was solely about that, it would be WAY TOO DARK. Plus, the quiddich scenes introduce characters like Cho and Cedric, that have larger roles in book 4 (GoF).

    • Another reason why cutting out Oliver Wood/Quidditch would be VERY BAD, is because it would deprive all the Sean Biggerstaff fans of their lovely, hot, talened actor. And, believe me, that would not be good thing (and we think Iraq is dangerous...) Well, there are over 13,000 sean sites listed on Google. There are countless more fans who 'wood' boycott the film, and make their families and friends boycott it too. The amount of money lost due to these fans 'wood' be significant enough for WB to 'siriusly' reconsider their decision to cut out Oliver Wood/Sean Biggerstaff from PoA. Thank you.
