Anhad, an upcoming Hindi Rock band was recently refused a gig by the Hard Rock Cafe Management. Not on grounds of being qualitatively good, but on grounds that they were a 'Hindi' rock band. This, by a 'multi-national' company, in a country where hindi (though not officially declared the national language) is perhaps the most commonly used language.
In a nutshell, 'they' disallow a band, that sings in 'our' language, in 'our' country, on grounds that it is all 'ours'.
Care to sign a petition, a move against this 'outsider' behaviour affecting us, insiders???

- This is indeed shameful. Music has no language barriers. Rock is rock. And who is HRD to decide the 'worth' of a band? If they want to be around in India, they should accept all bands. I think we, the listeners should be the judges of whether a band should play at HRC or not. It's time we boycott the place.

- To the best of my knowledge music has no language. Few of the Arabian songs have become quite popular in India, but how many of us really understand their lyrics?? Banning a hindi rock band in a Hindi speaking country is a disgrace in itself. Get well soon.

I was shocked to see such biased behaviour......OUR goverment is honuring sitar menstro n other classical performers with PADMABHUSHAN n here we are refusing the young talents just on the pretext tht their language is HINDI(lets ask bollywood to dish out only ENGLISH songs!!)

- i am a die heart hard rock fan...but this is seriously disgusting if you think that hindi songs are a disgrace to hard rock...hard rock could be in german, french, chinese and so many other languages so why not in hindi??
