We, the undersigned, feel that the Hespeler Scout House should not be shut down. It is a big part of the Cambridge music scene. It's a place where local bands can showcase their talent. If the Scout House were to be shut down, HTMS (Hesepeler Teen Music Society) will be forced to move their monthly shows elsewhere. HTMS has been putting on shows at the Scout House for quite some time, and the Scout House had gotten a good reputation from it. Taking away the Scout House would be taking away a part of Cambridge.

    • Making the Hespeler Scout House unavailable for local music shows will not benefit anyone and will not solve the problems which caused this in the first place. Teenagers need a cheap alternative for live entertainment. The Scout House provided that. Most of the time, people cannot enjoy live entertainment without paying an expensive price. Venues like this one have provided that and has helped built a strong community within the Tri Cities. Coming from a band member who has played multiple shows at the Scout Hut, removing this will only hurt local talent and the community at large. Nobody wins, period. Problems will not be solved by removing this venue.
