I-65 Barriers

We, the undersigned, call on the Department of Highways to install three or four taut cable barriers to stretch the length of the entire Interstate-65.

    • I, too, travel to Louisville via I-65 (just this week to attend the brief residency for the MFA I'm in), and I find myself thinking of Jesse and the others who've been killed by cross-over accidents. I drive, because of this, in the right lane and am still anxious. The lovely span of green is also a deadly span of green. I breathe a relief only when the concrete barriers are between my car and the cars opposite of me. Hitting someone head-on at 70mph each is like hitting a brick wall at 140mph--only worse, because even more vehicles can be involved and many can be hurt or die.
