Crusade Against Wool Seats on WMATA's Metro Rail

This peition is to FIGHT WMATA's effort of installation of wool seats on its metro rail train cars. This is an unnecessary use of capital improvement funds, as the change is not necessary. Wool seats on the train will pose discomfort due to increased friction, and retention of body heat. They will also pose a risk to commuters, as if a liquid is spilled, it will not be able to dry properly. The current seats can be cleaned by light wiping, opposed to the maintenance methods to be required by wool seats.

We must stop WMATA from mismanaging funds on frivolous endeavours such as this. Please endorse MetroMan (creator & author of "iMetro" [www.wtfmetro.com]) in this crusade.

    • Have you ever considered that these cloth seat are a breeding ground for crawling bugs.... don't laugh, I've seen them. Small "just born" baby roaches. Granted that was a while ago, but we've had that indestructible, easy to clean plastic seating since.... why spend money on something we use for just a few minutes out of our days?

    • Only a complete moron would make a decision to use wool, or any fabric fror that matter, for DC's metro seat covers. It's time to use plastic moulded seats already, cheap, easy to clean, did I mention CHEAP? Yeah, for an agency crying about not having money they sure do like to waste what we've given them!
