We, the undersigned, are requesting the State of Indiana to enact an infertility insurance mandate. Currently, 15 states in the U.S. are required to offer or treat infertility. These mandates were designed to make conception more affordable (and less emotionally draining) to the 1 of 6 couples that struggle with the problem. Furthermore, in these mandated states, infertility treatments are more successful and less risky for the mother and child. Such mandates only cost subscribers approximately $2 a month. According to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), only a select few (10-15\%) require the more advanced and highly-publicized Assisted Reproductive Techniques, such as in vitro fertilization. Other men and women can be treated by less expensive methods. Without the assistance of insurance to pay for treatments ranging from medications to IVF, many people will never experience the joy of pregnancy, childbirth, or watching their child grow.

    • We fully support the Indiana Fertility Insurance Mandate. We have no children, never conceived, and have run out of options with medications and surgery which have been expensive and difficult to pay for. We want insurance coverage so we can have freedom and security in our family planning aspirations.

    • I have known quite a few couples who are struggling to conceive. The costs of adoption are often more expansive and even then you are still not guaranteed a child.

    • I am not having infertility issues due to any fault of my own why can we not have health insurance coverage for this? It is horrible for those that cannot conceive and trying to pay for help is almost impossible for so many. Please, please consider making it mandatory to have fertility coverage for ALL insurance companies in the state of Indiana.
