IMPORTANT NOTICE

This is NOT a petition against the mIRC client,
but rather a petition FOR the rights of Trout on IRC.

Since 1995, Trout all over the world have been abused by mIRC users with the default /slap alias. This command is used to achieve many different outcomes, but the one common outcome is the continual mistreatment of the humble trout.

Trout have inhabited the internet through one way or another since human occupation. But because of species discrimination, trout have been oppressed and beaten 24 hours 7 days a week since 1995, when mIRC was first released. Such treatment can no longer be allowed on IRC or the internet.

The aim of this petition is to gather support for the welfare of trout on the internet, and present to Khaled Mardem-Bey (the creator of mIRC) a viable alternative to the reckless treatment of trout in his client's /slap alias.

We encourage anyone using mIRC to modify their /slap alias (you can do this by pressing the green [/a] icon in mIRC). If you have a suggestion as to what Khaled Mardem-Bey could use instead of trout, please leave this as a comment below.

We are The Undersigned demand:

* That all trout, large or otherwise, be afforded freedom from cruel treatment and slapping.
* That Khaled Mardem-Bey secure the next mIRC client against animal cruelty by changing the /slap alias in the default install.
* That the users of mIRC clients treat their trout with respect and honour, and refrain from treating them in an unhumane or slave-like manner.

In signing this petition we are testifying that we agree with the three points above and that we are saying "NO" to Violence Against Trout.
