We believe that the dismissal of Mr. Joey Bayerl as a teacher is an unsatisfactory solution to budget trouble and that there are far better ways to reduce budget costs than his discharge. We believe that he is an important member of Lester Prairie High School, and that if he is laid off, he will be missed greatly.

    • Mr. B is the BEST thing that has happened to LPHS. You let him go, you let the whole student body down. He was my absolutely favorite teacher while I was there. He does so much for that school. When he's gone, you might as well just close down.

    • As a recent graduate from LPHS and former student of Mr. Bayerl, I think cutting him would be a great disservice to the students that can learn so much from him. He has a lot to offer and cutting him is an unacceptable way to deal with the budget cuts.

    • Mr. Bayerl has been an excellent teacher. He is my favorite teacher, he tries to challenge us, but he still helps us out. He definitely goes beyond the classroom in order to bond with his students and make sure that they are in a comfortable environment. It is absolutely necessary that we keep Mr. Bayerl in our school. He knows what he is doing, and we can't lose him.

    • I am currently a junior in the school of Lester Prairie and i believe that Joey is down right one of the best teachers that has come to this school, and he has done alot for the plays and for everyone that falls under his wing. it would be a shame to see such a good teacher that loves his job leave.

    • You disappoint me Mr. Fitz. A school is about the students. You should think about them whilst making decisions.

    • Mr. Bayerl is one of my favorite teachers and it would be a big disappointment if he'd be let go. He does a lot for the plays and is an excellent teacher. He doesn't deserve to leave.

    • Mr. Bayerl was a great guy, who really took his job seriously. I don't understand this move. Is Ms. Olson going to be teaching all English classes? Sounds like a really bad idea.

    • Mr. Bayerl is by far one of the best teachers at Lester Priaire High. I'm sure there are MANY possibilities to reduce the budget then to cut one of the most hardworking individuals in the school. Unlike some, he does his job, he get's his work done. He isn't lazy about it and never complains. He pushes his students to succeed and to strive to do better. If Mr. Bayerl goes I'm sure he can find a job, even in this economy because he's that good!!!

    • He helped me so much while I went to school in lester prairie im sure alot of the teachers know who i am, he is a really good man, i think he will be even more help to future students. I dont see why you cant cut costs by getting rid of some sports or unneeded things or something else but an employee. Do you know how bad the job economy is? Do you know how hard it is to find a job now? What if he has a family to support, he cant do that with out a job and his family will end up in the streets. Cut something else to save money not someones life.

    • He was a great teacher. I remember when Mr. Henning retired and he finished the school year in his place. He was a great guy. Always understanding of students feelings and needs. Dismissing Mr. Bayerl would be a great deficit to Lester Prairie Schools.

    • When I was in LPHS, Mr. B was one of the few teachers who actually taught you, and it really stuck in your head. Letting him go for budget reasons would be a big mistake. Maybe LPHS should think of letting other teachers/people who are higher up go. They don't really do anythin for the school anyways...

    • Mr. Bayerl is not a good choice for the budget cut. I have learned a lot from him. He is among the few teachers that actually teaches his classes things and cares that we are learning. He keeps class busy, instead of wasting time.

    • cutting Mr. Bayerl would be the biggest mistake our school would ever make. His class is one of the most beneficial classes to students going off to college. You will be taking away one of the best teachers we have. how about listening to the students for once?
