    • John Cassavetes as a director is not a household name, but that's no reason not to predict success for a DVD release of one of his many outstanding films. The sheer brilliance and staying power of his best work has afforded him an large and devoted following, although it may not be readily apparent. I believe Criterion Collection was very pleased with the overwhelmingly positive to their large box set collecting his independent films.
