In the coming weeks, U.S. Senators Robert Casey and Arlen Specter will recommend a candidate for President Obama to nominate as the next federal judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

We, the undersigned, ask Senators Casey and Specter to submit the name of Attorney John R. O'Brien for nomination.

Attorney O'Brien offers an impressive academic and professional background: magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan and cum laude graduate of Boston College Law School. He has worked as a federal clerk and has served as managing partner of Oliver, Price & Rhodes for more than a decade. He has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Lackawanna County Bar Association and serves as Lackawanna County Solicitor. Attorney O'Brien has given back to his community by volunteering as a lector and catechism teacher at Saint Clares Parish and as a Mock Trial coach at Scranton Preparatory School.

Most significantly, Attorney O'Brien is a jurist of unquestioned integrity who is admired and respected by his colleagues.
