We, the many readers and writers of song fiction, hereby request the ban on said song fiction be lifted. We regard the ban of songs in our fiction distastefully. If we do not claim the songs as our own, why shouldnt we be allowed to use them? We are allowed to use other characters as our own, given we do not claim to own them, why should songs be any different?

To conclude, here are the signatures of all the authors who think this ban is un necessary. We thank you for hearing us out, even if you do not act upon what we have said. Thank you.

- I agree that the ban placed on song-fiction is irrational. We do not claim ownership to the songs, just as we don't claim ownership of any characters we write about in our fan-fictions. I believe that this ban should be lifted, for it makes no logical sense.

- Though I have yet to right a songfic of my own, many of them, as said by previous signers, are extremly well written. Some authors who do write songfics might see this banning of their stories as a punishment for their writting skills.

- It is not fair AT ALL. We give FULL credit for lyrics, but they still get took down... We give NO credit for characters, it stays up!!! ALL SONGFIC WRITERS UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!! x

- I totally agree, I just posted a songfic called 'If I Die Young' featuring the lyrics from the song of the same name by 'The Band Perry' and I have given full credit to them, yet I have been told by an 'Eliminator' that I must remove the lyrics but everyone uses them and gives credit to the rightful owners... I don't understand why sonfics are treated any differently to normal stories, even when lyrics are used in normal stories without being banned?
