Dear General Hospital,
Ever so often in a soap opera there is an unforgettable character that remains in our hearts even after they depart. This summer you mange to bring back our favorite heroine Brenda Barrett played by Vanessa Marcil. She had been gone from GH for a few years now and when she returned your ratings went thru the roof because of us the fans. You finally listen to us and brought back Brenda, with her came back the adventure, sexiness, romance and comedy that General Hospital once had . . . One of the reasons that General Hospital was so popular in the 90s was because of the character of Brenda Barrett. When she was paired with Sonny Corinthos everyone fell in love. They provided us with one of the hottest romances in daytime television. When the character was paired with Jasper Jacks, the hottest daytime triangle began. Everyone had an opinion on which Brenda should end up with. Even now there are still arguments about it.

So now the fans who have so waited for her return are hearing that you guys are planning on killing off Brenda during February Sweeps. We the fans feel betrayed. We just began enjoying General Hospital again because of Brenda's return and now you are going to take that away from us. We want Brenda to stay on General Hospital and we want her to have a great storyline. We hope that this petition is taken seriously and that consideration is given to our request. We feel that the only way that General Hospital will remain a top soap is to keep Brenda on. The ratings have gone up due to her return. In order for a soap opera to be successful its fans must be kept happy and what would make us happy would be Brenda Barrett not to be killed off during February sweeps and for her to stay on General Hospital. .

    • To kill the charactor of Brenda would be a terrible injustice to the fans that have brought the ratings back to where they are. It has been hard to watch fav charactors leave because of the writer's assumptions that they know what the fans really want when in reality they don't listen at all. I personally believe that the show will drop ratings and the powers that be will begin another sweep of firing actors that will contribute to the show's demise.

    • Brenda Barrett has always been my fave character on GH my all time fave couple is Brenda and Jax. When Brenda died i stopped watching GH because the show and Jax were not the same without her. I started watching again in late August to get ready for Vanessa's return as Brenda I waited for years for her to grace my screen again and it was great. When Brenda and Jax finally saw eachother again I had tears in my eyes I have waited 4 years for them to get back together and I don't want it to end with a possible killing of Brenda. Let's face it GH needs Vanessa and the fans love her

    • The only reason I started watching GH is because of the character, Brenda Barrett. I stopped watching after her death and resumed watching when she returned. To write her off would lose so many loyal fans. Hasn't this been proven by how much the ratings have improved since she's been back? Please reconsider and keep her on! She's such an asset to the show and has chemistry with everyone on it. Look how many people can't decide what couples they want together because of her.
