Enclosing the Kilcoy Therapy Pool

We the residents of Somerset ask the Somerset Council to fully enclose the Kilcoy Heated Therapy Pool.
Our reasons are:
1/ The pool can then be used year round by residents needing to use the pool. The pool is frequently too cold to be in because of the wind factor even in warmer weather. Older residents and those with medical conditions cannot use the pool if it is too cold.
2/ There is a lack of privacy without an enclosure. Trucks pull up directly outside the pool and children and women particularly do not wish to be seen in togs directly from the street.
3/ The pool is a fantastic resource for those residents who wish to improve their health and wish to have access to a place where they can exercise comfortably and privately.

- The pool is too cold to use! I would love to use the pool more but it is not warm enough. I would use the pool more if it was warmer and more private.

- I have been a physio here in Kilcoy for two years and have had numerous complaints from residents with a wide variety of medical conditions who wish to use the pool but can't. The most common reasons given are it is too cold to use with the wind blowing through and that they feel self-conscious being in togs and being visible to the road. The Kilcoy Heated pool would be a great resource for the whole community if the pool were enclosed.

- There should be a fence right along a main road side for privacy.keep out traffic noise, inclement weather ie. storms and excessive weather.

- I would like to add the fumes from the trucks when they stop and the transport dept. are checking all trucks out side the pool

- I fully suppport this petition as a monthly subscription user.I normally swim with 6 other ladies early morning(6 am).The wind chill factor has an enormous impact on parts of the body that are out of the water.An enclosed pool would be wonderful. Also it would eliminate the dreadful cattle truck smells and privacy would be a bonus as well.
