We, the Undersigned, call upon Haringey Council Licensing Panel not to grant a licence for a lap dancing club at the Music Palace Bar,159a Tottenham Lane, Hornsey. If granted, it will produce unacceptable noise, stimulate a wide range of antisocial behaviour and make women and girls in our community feel less safe. The premises are sited near to an all girls school and opposite the YMCA and a combined infants and primary school: as such, this location is totally unacceptable.

    • I have a 14 year old daughter who passes this location on her way to and from School. To claim that the current law would require her and her friends to experience any level of intimidation before you take such evidence into consideration is ridiculous. My daughter and her friends should not be exposed to such a venue at their age. To claim that a subtle name will not reveal anything is rubbish. They will know what goes on in there and that exposure to a branch of the sex industry in itself means the council is not doing the job of protecting children it is so clearly supposed to be doing. Your 1st priority is to our kids. that should lead you to conclude that the location of this club is totally inappropriate.

    • I find it completely unacceptable how anyone can seriously allow the opening of a lap dancing club right across the road from a primary school and in the middle of crouch end. If the lap dancing club opens, it could attract an increase in crime, drugs & general late night noise. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT allow this club to open.

    • Please understand there are many reason to move to Crouch End, this include the outsides spaces, the pleasant population and above all The Broadway. Having lived all over London I find the smiles on faces, the quality of life and the feeling of safety make Crouch End a Top Five residential location. The Broadway is the primary draw of Crouch End, already the Credit Crunch has caused The Broadway a number of casualties, including Woolworths: the council needs to face up to its responsibilities and, through our Council Tax, encourage retailers to progress the quality of this boutique paradise, not regress it. This type of entertainment is welcome in London but in the entertainment areas. The residential village of Crouch End is not that.

    • Helene Drebitko I was shocked to hear that a lap- dancing club could be authorised to open in Crouch End. Crouch End is about community spirit, family value, respect, local shops, sport and communal spaces, parks, nice restaurants and bars where we can all enjoy being Crouch-enders. There is no demand nor place in Crouch End for a lap dancing bar and we should all fight against it and allow the Crouch-enders to live the dream!
