We, the fans of Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender, hereby state that we disapprove of the cast that has been chosen for the live-action film. A series that has its roots based in Asian culture should have a cast that reflects that as well. By saying this, we do not mean that an entirely Asian cast is necessary, but that those casted for roles in this film should look similar to their television series counterparts. While such casting should not interfere with the actors abilities to do their jobs, it is still important to resemble the original characters as closely as possible. It is this that we believe you have failed to do, and we ask that you please reconsider the actors that have been chosen, as well as those in charge of their having been casted in the first place. We thank you for your time, and hope that you heed our advice.

    • Dev Patel is a good actor, but TOTALLY NOT ZUKO! And the other actors, they are not even close to Katara and Sokka, dont know about Noah Ringer. Judging by the pictures available in the internet, id say he is really cute but too young to play Aang and Nicola Peltz looks like a woman next to him.So the casting isnt right AT ALL!

    • Agreed. While I'm sure we can't stop the movie from being produced all together, steps should be taken to preserve the authenticity of the source material. That being said, no stupid one liners, no forced pop culture references, etc.

    • I'm really surprised with Paramount - if Paramount truly had 'TALENT', they wouldn't randomly use white actors and leave the background as asians. so it's easy find thousands of asians to use for background? and hard to find five talented asian actors?
