Put Plus Sized Pageants on National Television

For many years, we have had the pleasure of seeing Miss America, Miss Universe, Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss Teen America and other pageants. Why can't we as plus sized women have the opportunity to be graced on television in our own pageant that is in the Miss America Organization?

A plus size version of this pageant would be open to women size 16 and over, with basically the same areas of competition, except swimsuit. Talent, interview questions, evening gown, casual/sportwear, photogenic, and congeniality are just some areas that can be considered.


I have come to the conclusion that its time to get a pageant of this type in motion and nationally televised, as the plus woman needs to be represented in the United States and the world in a positive light. Your support and assistance with this is greatly appreciated, so that this innovative idea can be considered.

    • I have been competing in Plus pageants since 1999 and they are wonderful. Not only do we need Miss, but Mrs. pageants also that are televised. Hope to see this type of pageant soon. Also, most of the plus pageants are charity type pageants. A Plus Scholorship pageant would be great.

    • Sixty percent of American women are plus size so why isn't there a plus size pagent on network television? Plus size women are just as beautiful, sexy, talented & intelligent as any "normal" size. (I use "normal" in this instance because we all know the media depicts normal as thin & under a size 8!!)
