All About the Music - A L'Arc~en~Ciel Petition from Overseas Fans

This petition is to prove that there is a large global L'Arc~en~Ciel fan following outside of the targeted anime community. As a plea from L'Arc~en~Ciel's overseas fans, we, the Undersigned, implore that Ki/oon Records, Tofu Records and L'Arc~en~Ciel's management allow L'Arc~en~Ciel a non-anime venue in the United States in which the band can properly perform solely for their music and not for their relation to anime. In the case that such a feat can be accomplished, we, the Undersigned, are willing to travel the distances to said show if given the proper amount of time to prepare for such a trip (at least 4 months in advance). We would like to see L'Arc~en~Ciel be treated as a legitimate band by granting them a space to perform on their own, preferably in the US city or area in which the amount of L'Arc~en~Ciel fans is highly concentrated. Should there be a show, the number of names listed below can assure the aforementioned companies that there is a possible financial benefit not only from the selling of tickets to such an event but also from the selling of L'Arc~en~Ciel merchandise at said event. All parties would benefit, and we graciously ask for and support the idea of a non-anime-related L'Arc~en~Ciel Live Show in the United States.

- With the US release of SMILE, and the rather late notification of the L'Arc~en~Ciel performance at an anime convention (fans were only notified a month in advance, a timespan not suitable for gathering funds for such a trip), L'Arc~en~Ciel's overseas fans, most of whom are outside of the targeted anime community, have been quite ignored. I would love to see L'Arc~en~Ciel have a proper venue in which they will be received because of their music and not because of their relation to anime. As an extremely talented and successful band, they should be treated as such and deserve at least that much. The overseas fans who've supported them should also have the chance to see them perform as any other band would: at a Live Show made for those who love their music.

- I am willing to travel all the way from Alabama to see L'arc-en-ciel, no matter where the actual concert would be held. It is time Tofu Records, Ki/oon Records, and L'arc's management realize that L'arc-en-ciel has a great many fans outside of Japan and other Asian countries. It is only fair for us to get the chance to see them; As it is, one would have to travel all the way to Asia just to see them. As stated in the petition, there would be serious gains for all parties involved. We would all finally get to hear L'arc-en-ciel live, and the record companies would benefit financially. It is a win-win situation.

- I've been a fan of L'Arc~en~Ciel for three years. I sat and waited patiently for the day they'd even have their music released over here, muchless the day they'd be able to actually perform. The morning that I got the mailing list email from Tofu saying they'd be in Baltimore I thought I'd die. Not because they were coming to the U.S, oh no. Because they were coming to a part of the U.S. I couldn't trek to on such short notice. A good portion of us can't just drop everything on a month's notice, no matter how once in a lifetime this oppurtunity is. And that this show isn't even for us, the fans, makes it even harder to sit back and let others enjoy the show. I can't sit still while a bunch of anime fans (who haven't been waiting for years to see L'Arc~en~Ciel live, muchless be in the same room with them) get to go this concert. Especially because they aren't being very grateful about it.

- L'Arc~en~Ciel definetely deserve a gig OUTSIDE of an anime related venue, where fans of their music can see them instead of fighting for seating with the anime fans who are only there because they've got nothing else to do that night. And uhh ... Laruku has a huge overseas fanbase, if they were to do a little tour of America or even England ... I don't think that they would be let down.

- I would have loved to see L'Arc at otakon, however, am not that much of an anime fan. There are so many Laruku fan's who love them for the music, please allow this to occur! I love L'Arc so much, please don's let Otakon be the only oppertunity for the US fans to see L'Arc~En~Ciel preform!

- I would love to be able to attend a L'arc~en~ciel concert apart from the venue of an anime convention. Although Laruku has done much in contributing to the anime industry (in the form of opening/closing songs) their fanbase is definitely not limited to anime fans alone.
