To the Stage: Save Drama in Livingston

As many of you already know, there is no auditorium in the plans of the new high school. Without an auditorium, there will be no Drama program.

The LISD School Board says the issue is money, and I understand. But they need to understand how important Theater is to us.

I believe that this petition could make a difference if we can get enough signatures.

But I also understand that the money issue isn't going to solve itself, so when you sign this petition, if you have any ideas on how to raise money to get an auditorium in the high school feel free to include it in your comments.

    • Well, as far as money, there is the obvious choice: budget cuts on all extracurriculars, thus making theatre at least an option. Then there are fundraisers and whatnot. I'm sure we can come up with something...

    • I think that Livingston needs an auditorium, not only for the theatre program, but for preformances by the band, chior, and any other prgram that may prove to require an auditorium, but to mention a place for graduation so the parents do not have to travel all the way to Lufkin every year. There are situations in which some family' cannot travel that far...thus revoking from them the right to see their son, daughter, brother, sister, ect. graduate.
